MEKO strengthens its sustainability efforts through a new partnership with Worldfavor, a digital platform that enables transparent data access. The partnership aims to further improve the clarity of MEKO's supply chain, ensuring a sustainable and transparent network for suppliers, producers and employees.

The goal is to cover the entire supply base, including both centrally managed suppliers and those handled locally within different business areas. This platform will enhance transparency across MEKO's operations and optimize its sustainability efforts.

"We recognized the need for a unified tool to evaluate the sustainability of our suppliers. Our aim is to streamline processes, identify and manage risks, improve oversight, and ensure clearer follow-up at a group level," says Louise Wohrne, Head of Sustainability at MEKO.

The implementation of Worldfavor’s tool will be carried out in phases, starting in the third quarter 2024.

"This collaboration will provide us with a consolidated view of our supplier base. It gives us the ability to demand improvements in various areas and allows us to identify risks, enabling us to prioritize our efforts in the most efficient and sustainable way," adds Jessica Tjulander, Director of Wholesale at MEKO.

MEKO has been committed to a circular business model for over 50 years, extending the lifespan of vehicles through service and repair. The company's vision is to enable mobility today, tomorrow, and in the future, continuously taking steps toward a more sustainable operation.

"We are convinced that a strong sustainability focus is key to delivering solid financial results, attracting and retaining employees, and remaining relevant in the future. As market leaders, we must lead in sustainability within our industry and take significant social responsibility. Our ongoing implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and the coming Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) highlights the importance of supplier evaluation tools in addressing several European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), such as the 'workers in the value chain standard'," says Louise Wohrne.
