Mekonomen enters co-operation agreement with Inter Cars
Mekonomen has entered a co-operation agreement with the Polish company Inter Cars, which has a leading market position in Eastern Europe. Mekonomen and Inter Cars will co-operate in the area of purchasing and logistics from the Far East, and co-own a product testing centre in Warsaw.
Inter Cars is the biggest importer and distributor of automotive spare parts for passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Poland and Eastern Europe, with a presence in 11 countries. Established in 1990, Inter Cars has grown rapidly, achieving PLN 3.0 billion in revenue in 2012. Inter Cars is listed on the Warsaw stock exchange.
“We are very happy to announce this cooperation, which will provide both companies with advantages in our respective markets – a true win-win situation,” says Marcus Larsson, Executive Vice President Mekonomen Group.
“Both companies are market leaders in their regions. Each of us has extensive experience in trade with overseas countries. Close cooperation will help us to optimise several processes, such as purchasing, logistics and testing of products sourced from these countries,” says Robert Kierzek, President and CEO, Inter Cars.
By joining forces with Inter Cars through this co-operation agreement, Mekonomen will be able to test and more quickly launch a new and even broader assortment to existing and new customer groups.
