Mekonomen Group, the leading spare parts distributor in Northern Europe, announces that the company's new name MEKO AB (publ.) has been registered with the Swedish Companies Registration Office. The name change was decided by the shareholders at the company's Annual General Meeting on 20 May 2022, to more clearly reflect the breadth of operations and show that the Group is more than one important brand.

The name change to MEKO reflects the extensive expansion journey in recent years where the company under its strong brands and concepts is the market leader in Sweden, Norway and Denmark, with operations also in Poland and Finland.

“We have successfully participated in the consolidation in Northern Europe by acquiring leading players, most recently FTZ in Denmark and Inter-Team in Poland in 2018. Our strategy is based on our vision; We enable mobility - today, tomorrow and in the future. As an enabler of mobility, we must be the best and most comprehensive partner for everyone who drives, repairs and maintains cars, regardless of which vehicles that are driving on the roads”, says Pehr Oscarson, President and CEO of MEKO AB.

The name change of the parent company of the Group does not affect existing operations or the strong concepts and brands in the Group's business areas, among others; Mekonomen, MECA, AutoMester, Carpeople and BilXtra. The company's share will continue to have the short name (ticker) MEKO. The name change is a purely administrative procedure and shareholders do not need to take any action.
