METRO APPOINTS NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR IN POLAND Metro International S.A. ("Metro"), the international newspaper group, today announced the appointment of Dominik Tzimas as Managing Director of its Polish operation. Dominik Tzimas has an established track record in the Polish market, having held managerial positions in various publishing companies in Poland. Dominik was Sales Director at Axel Springer and also worked at Bauer where he was Sales and Marketing Director and a member of the Board. Dominik will assume his responsibilities of Managing Director of Metropol with effect from 6 May 2004. Metro was launched in Poland in November 2000 and rapidly became the most widely read newspaper in Warsaw. 140,000 copies of Metropol are distributed each morning in the capital and attract over 325,000 daily readers. Metro expanded its distribution at the beginning of March to cover 4 additional cities in Poland, which makes Metropol the fourth largest newspaper in Poland. Metropol's distribution now reaches one fifth of the country's urban population, which has the highest spending power per person.
