Metro launches new afternoon newspaper in Stockholm

METRO LAUNCHES NEW AFTERNOON NEWSPAPER IN STOCKHOLM Metro International S.A. (MTROA / MTROB) (Metro International) today announced the launch of a new free daily newspaper in Stockholm called 'Everyday', which will be published each afternoon, Monday through Friday, and distributed through selected retail outlets in Stockholm and outside the city's subway stations. Metro International is printing 200,000 copies of the new newspaper each day and the first edition of 'Everyday' will be available later today in Stockholm. 'Everyday' editions will be distributed free of charge, in colour, and will carry headline local, national and international news in a tabloid format. The latest report by independent surveyor SIFO confirmed that the Swedish editions of 'Metro' have an average daily readership of 952,000. The launch of 'Everyday' can be seen as a first step in the closer co- operation between Metro International and the everyday.com portal, which is 50% owned by Metro International's former parent company, Modern Times Group MTG AB and 50% owned by Netcom AB.
