Where have all the great people gone?

As part of their substantial growth plans, social care recruitment company Metrocare has now moved to new a HQ in Hounslow, perfectly located by the Piccadilly Line and are now looking to recruit both trainee and experienced recruitment staff to add to the growing team.

Metrocare who opened in 2010 is quickly establishing itself as a market leader for temporary and permanent staff in the London social care sector.

The new office which contains a staff training facility, registration area's and the London operations team can easily accomodate a larger staff base. The question is where have all the strong applicants gone?

Metrocare are very open-minded about applicants background and expertise. So either the art of writing a CV has vanished or applicants are so busy applying for hundreds of jobs that they do not put in the time or effort required?

A CV is not just about work history or qualifications; simply because you have recently left school or college should not mean you have a small CV with little or no content. List everything, sporting acheivements, clubs and associations, life experience and anything that proves a positive or winning nature.

Metrocare employ internal office and sales staff, plus 100's of care staff and support workers. Operations Director, Steve O'Brien joined the search for new recruitment staff recently and said "I look for anything that shows a glimmer of personality and passion. If you have won something at school, college, university or work, be proud of it and it may well be the one element of your CV that helps you get the all important interview. I always look for personal achievements first, then work experience..." He went on to say "The other thing is firms get plenty of CV's sent through, especially by email. If you didn't hear, give them a call! Speaking to the hirer direct might give you the opportunity to sell yourself and get them to give your application a second chance."

If you really want the job, take care to think about it and personalise your job application, add a personal letter, follow up with a telephone call and present yourself well at all times. That's what Metrocare are looking for, someone with drive and good communication skills who really wants a better job with a great company! Know anyone who fits the bill?
