Par Sundberg To Become President and CEO of Metronome Film & Television
It was announced today that former OTW President and CEO Par Sundberg has been appointed President and CEO of Metronome Film and Television.
Sundberg’s extensive production experience spans television, publishing and new media. Until last year he was President and CEO of OTW, a single production company he co-founded in 1996. Additionally, in 2005 Sundberg co-founded Buzzador AB, now Scandinavia’s leading social media integrator on which he retains a seat on the board. “At Shine Group we believe and invest in the finest creative entrepreneurial talent and no one typifies this more than Par. His drive is proven, his work with traditional and new media both inventive and profitable, and his track record in delivering creative content for broadcasters exemplary. I believe he is perfectly placed to take the Metronome Group of companies to the next level of success and that he’ll contribute hugely to the Shine Group globally.” says Elisabeth Murdoch, Chairman and CEO of the Shine Group. Based in Stockholm, Sundberg will be responsible for developing and sustaining growth within the existing Metronome Group of companies as well as identifying and exploiting new opportunities in the Nordic market. Reporting to Group President Alex Mahon, he takes up his role in September filling the CEO vacancy left by Mats Alders, who was promoted to the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Metronome Group of companies in March. “Shine Group is owner-led and entrepreneurial and has got great ambitions which inspires me. I have always been impressed by the many talents throughout the Metronome companies and it is a real pleasure to be joining them,” says Par Sundberg. In addition to his board membership at Buzzador AB, Sundberg will continue as a non-executive director with AB Traction, and IPS Forandringskompetens AB, whose boards he has sat on since 2005 and 2003 respectively. The appointment comes a year after the Metronome companies joined the Shine Group, a period in which the companies have flourished with notable successes in scripted and non scripted programming. These include the commissioning of successful group-owned formats Biggest Loser in Sweden and MasterChef in Norway along with the exporting of original home grown creative formats such as Friday TV’s Minute To Win It which has enjoyed a successful first series and subsequent recommissions on NBC and sales to date in a great number of countries.
