Appointment in Metsä-Serla Corporation


M.Sc. (Pol.) Ari Himma has been appointed Corporate Vice President, Human
Resources of Metsä-Serla as per 2 April 2001. Mr. Himma (41) will in his new
position be a member of Metsä-Serla's Operative Management Board, and he will
report to Mr Jouko M. Jaakkola, Senior Executive Vice President & COO. 

Mr Himma has worked since 1987 in the human resource management of
international corporations. Mr Himma joins Metsä-Serla from Metso Automation
Group, where he has worked as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. 

The appointment of Mr Himma strenghtens Metsä-Serla's Human Resources function
especially in the areas of international HR management.
