Kemiart Liners invests in Europe's first ValFormer forming section

Press release 8.3.2006

M-real Kemiart Liners invests in Europe's first ValFormer forming section for
boardmaking applications. This latest investment of roughly EUR 7.0 million
will result in improved product quality and it will increase the mill's
production capacity from 345,000 tonnes to 360,000 tonnes per year. The
upgraded machine will start up in mid August 2006.

The new state-of-the-art hybrid forming technology delivered by Metso Paper
will enhance the product quality by improving formation of the Kemiart
linerboards, resulting in better smoothness and printability. Furthermore, it
enables full capacity utilization also with high grammages.

This investment is a continuation of Kemiart Liners' strategic development
programme to improve product quality and to increase the production and sales
of high quality coated kraftliners. Previous investments in coating unit and
coating colour circulation were completed late 2005. This development programme
will strengthen Kemiart's worldwide position as the leading supplier of high
performance coated linerboards for consumer and retail corrugated board
packaging.
