Metsä Board’s Annual and Sustainability Report, Corporate Governance Statement and Remuneration Report for 2022 have been published

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has published its Annual and Sustainability Report for 2022 as a PDF file in English and Finnish. The combined Annual and Sustainability Report contains the Board of Director’s report, financial statements and Corporate Governance Statement for the financial period 1 January–31 December 2022. In addition, the company has published its Corporate Governance Statement and Remuneration Report for 2022 as separate PDF files in English and Finnish. All the publications mentioned above are available on the company’s website at https://www.metsagroup.com/metsaboard/investors/ and as attachments to this release.

The combined Annual and Sustainability Report respond to the increasing need for sustainability information, as well as the increasing regulation regarding sustainability reporting. The Sustainability Report covers the most important information on environmental, social, and governance matters according to the ESG classification. The Sustainability Report describes how Metsä Board has advanced towards its ambitious sustainability targets for 2030 and which measures have been implemented and will be implemented in the coming years to achieve the targets. The report also includes reporting on climate risks according to the TCFD recommendations, as well as SASB reporting for the pulp and paper products industry. The key sustainability information has been assured by PricewaterhouseCoopers Oy at the limited assurance level.
The financial statements are published according to the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) reporting requirements as an XHTML file in English and Finnish. The main calculations and notes of the consolidated financial statements are marked with the XBRL markup. The audit firm KPMG Oy Ab has provided an independent limited assurance report regarding the ESEF financial statements prepared by Metsä Board. The assurance engagement has been carried out in accordance with the ISAE 3000 (revised) assurance engagements standard.
