Metsä Board’s Annual Review 2023 and Remuneration Policy have been published

Metsä Board Corporation Stock exchange release Annual Financial Report 22 February 2024 at 2:00 p.m. EET

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, has published its Annual Review 2023 as a PDF file in Finnish and English. The Annual Review includes the Financial Statements, Report of the Board of Directors, Corporate Governance Statement and Remuneration Report for the financial period 1 January–31 December 2023.

Metsä Board has also published its Remuneration Policy, which will be presented to the Annual General Meeting on 26 March 2024. The now published Remuneration Policy does not contain amendments to the Remuneration Policy approved by the Annual General Meeting on 11 June 2020.

The Corporate Governance Statement, Remuneration Report and Remuneration Policy have been published as separate PDF files in English and Finnish on the company’s website at https://www.metsagroup.com/metsaboard/investors/ and are also attached to this release.

Metsä Board’s Sustainability Statement is included in the Report of the Board of Directors. The preparation of the content and structure of the 2023 Sustainability Statement have already been guided by the reporting requirements of the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), which applies to Metsä Board’s reporting as of 2024. The Sustainability Statement complies with the Accounting Act’s reporting requirements concerning non-financial information in accordance with the EU’s Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD), as well as the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) 2021 and the SASB standards for the Pulp & Paper Products industry. Selected key sustainability information has been assured by KPMG Oy at the limited assurance level.

The Financial Statements are published according to the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF) reporting requirements as an XHTML file in Finnish and English. The main calculations and notes of the consolidated Financial Statements are marked with the XBRL markup. The audit firm KPMG Oy Ab has provided an independent limited assurance report regarding the ESEF Financial Statements prepared by Metsä Board. The assurance engagement has been carried out in accordance with the ISAE 3000 (revised) assurance engagements standard.
