NINA KUULUSA APPOINTED AS M-REAL CORPORATION'S GENERAL COUNSEL

Nina Kuulusa has been appointed as of 1 April 2005 as M-real
Corporation's General Counsel reporting to Juhani Pöhö, Executive
Vice President, CFO. Kuulusa will also continue as the secretary of M-
real's board of directors and its committees. In addition to overall
legal affairs of M-real, Kuulusa will also be responsible for matters
related to the application of the Securities Market Act and legal
issues related to corporate governance included in the rules of the
Stock Exchange.

At the same time Metsäliitto Group has established a new service unit
of legal affairs (Metsäliitto Group Legal Services) as of 1 April
2005. The purpose for establishing a service unit is to further
develop the quality of legal services, to reduce costs related to the
management of legal affairs, and to achieve group synergies by
integrating services acquired from outside. Metsäliitto Cooperative
and its subsidiaries are involved in the establishment. The legal
services provided by the unit are available to all companies of
Metsäliitto Group, and the lawyers are responsible for the legal
affairs of the various companies of the Group. The following persons
have been appointed to Metsäliitto Group Legal Services starting from
1 April 2005:

- Esa Kaikkonen as General Counsel of Metsäliitto Group
- Anna-Liisa Aminoff-Lindblad, as Director, Tax Law
- Seppo Tuomola as Director, Competition Law
- Miika Arola as Legal Counsel, Acquisitions
- Esa Niinimäki as Legal Counsel, Financing and Insurance (as of May
16th, 2005)
- Pekka Warjus as Legal Counsel, Real Estate and Environment
- Hilppa Rautpalo as Legal Counsel, IT and R & D agreements
- Robert Winkels as Legal Counsel, Germany and Central Europe
- Ronalds Drunka as Legal Counsel, Baltic Countries and eastern
Central Europe

The new address of the legal affairs unit, starting from April 18,
will be Metsätapiola, 2nd Floor (Revontulentie 6). The office of
Robert Winkels after establishing the new unit will still be in
Germany, in connection with M-real Zanders GmbH, and the office of
Ronalds Drunka is located in connection with Silva Ltd, a subsidiary
of Thomesto Oy, in Riga, Latvia. Esa Niinimäki, LLM (age 29), was
previously employed by White & Case Oy, attorneys at law.

In addition, two secretary's posts have been established for the
service unit. Kaisa Kuronen is the secretary of Esa Kaikkonen, Anna-
Liisa Aminoff-Lindblad and Seppo Tuomola, and Maria Sortila is the
secretary of the service unit. Other secretarial arrangements will be
announced later.
