Metsä Board Corporation Stock exchange release 1 October 2015 at 3.00 p.m. EET

As a result of a group internal ownership arrangement, tax losses were transferred to Metsä Board Corporation in 2014. The company has deducted tax losses from its taxable result for the financial year 2014 and the first half of 2015. The Finnish Tax Administration has given an opinion against the deductibility of the losses.

Consequently, Metsä Board records in its Q3/2015 result approximately EUR 15 million in income tax, which was not recorded in 2014 and H1/2015. Metsä Board will appeal against the opinion of the Tax Administration, as the company believes the losses are deductible.
