Anneli Karhula is the new Senior Vice President, Human Resources

Anneli Karhula (47) has been appointed Senior Vice President, Human Resources
and a member of Botnia's Management Group with effect from 1 October 2002. Ms
Karhula's office will be in Espoo and she will report to the company's
President & Chief Executive Officer. 


Anneli Karhula will have overall responsibility for all matters relating to
Botnia's human resources. This includes development of the organization and key
personnel, the management development programme, and the rewards and commitment
schemes. Ms Karhula will also be responsible for assisting the Group's foreign
subsidiaries in matters relating to human resources and for cooperation between
the Group and its owners in human resources management. 

Anneli Karhula graduated from the University of Stockholm, where she majored in
economics and business administration. Ms Karhula has considerable experience
in human resources management, having worked as Training Manager for Rautakirja
Oyj, as Director, Human Resources for Oy Helvar Ab, and as Director of
Development for OKO Bank Group Central Cooperative, where she was responsible
for business and human resources development.
