Botnia obtained the certificate of Energy Efficiency System (EES

Botnia was granted the certificate of Energy Efficiency System (EES) by
Inspecta on 12 December 2008. It is the very first EES certificate granted by
Inspecta. 


Energy efficiency system in Botnia is an integral part of the company's
Operational System. The internal audits of the system were carried out at the
Finnish mills, Inspecta, in turn, completed the external audit in the third
quarter. 

Approximately 800 Botnia employees were trained up for the energy efficiency
system in 2008. The training will continue next year and the focus will be on
individual processes at each mill and the training is tailored for production
personnel. The training will deepen the knowledge of energy efficiency at
different mill departments. Also, the energy gauging of the automation system
will be exploited more efficiently.
