The Finnish stevedores belonging to the Transport Workers' Union, and the port
operators representing the employer's have this afternoon accepted a new
agreement thus ending the Finnish port strike.

The stevedores will return to work gradually at the latest next Tuesday;
however, the full details of the settlement have not yet been released.

The two-week strike closed nearly all Finnish harbors causing inconvenience to
some of our customers. Metsä Tissue's preventive actions to minimize the
impacts of the strike on customers worked well. However, the preparations and
the re-arrangements of transports resulted in the company incurring additional
costs.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused by the strike and thank our
customers, consumers and other stakeholders for their support and
understanding.
