JUKKA FORSSTRÖM APPOINTED HEAD OF GROUP TREASURY FOR METSÄLIITTO GROUP

Metsäliitto Group Treasury (Metsä Finance) will take on a bigger role from 2007.
The current Head of Metsäliitto Group Internal Audit, Jukka Forsström (48), has
been appointed the new Head of Group Treasury as of 1 February 2007.

"Metsäliitto Group Treasury will take on a bigger role next year. In addition to
its present tasks, Group Treasury will also deal with wider cash management
issues, Group receivable management and trade finance. As the Treasury's role
changes we have decided to bring in more experience by appointing Jukka Forsström
as Head of Group Treasury," says Ilkka Pitkänen, CFO, Metsäliitto Group.

Jukka Forsström, M.Sc. (Econ.), has headed internal audit since 2005, and has
previously held the positions of Metsä-Botnia's CFO and Head of Group Treasury
for Elcoteq. He will report to Ilkka Pitkänen, CFO, Metsäliitto Group and will
also take on the legal role as Managing Director of Metsä Finance.

The current Managing Director of Metsä Finance, Aapo Nikunen, will leave the
company on 1 February 2007 to continue his studies.
