Jussi Vanhanen to join Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors

At a meeting held on 27 October 2021, the Supervisory Board of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Jussi Vanhanen, M.Sc.(Law) and MBA, as a new member of the cooperative's Board of Directors during the three year period of 2022-2024.

Vanhanen has extensive international experience in the forest and other process industries. He is currently the CEO of Vexve Armatury Group, a leading European valve manufacturer.

Timo Saukkonen, M.Sc (Agriculture and Forestry), was elected to continue as a member of the Board of Directors.

Arto Hiltunen, M.Sc (Econ), was not available for further election to Board of Directors. Hiltunen has been a Board member since 2007.

The meeting also decided to pay the following fees to the Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the Board of Directors in 2022: the fee paid to the Chairman of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board will be EUR 12,000 per month, monthly fee for the Vice Chairman EUR 5,500,  and the monthly fee for Board members will be EUR 4,500. The monthly fee paid to the chair of the Audit Committee will be EUR 1,300  and to the chair of the HR Committee EUR 1,100. Board members’ meeting fee is 800 euros.
