PRESS RELEASE, JANUARY 30, 2025 at 9.30 EET

This year Metsä Group’s  tissue paper brand Lambi celebrates 60 years of bringing softness and quality into homes across Nordics. This anniversary marks a significant milestone in our journey, showcasing Lambi’s unwavering commitment to delivering premium tissue paper that comes from a value chain with significant sustainability commitments.

Lambi is and has been synonym to softness, quality, and local production. A study conducted in 2024* showed that over 70 percent of the Finnish and 40 per cent of the Swedish consumers prefer buying locally produced tissue paper products. Lambi products are made in Metsä Tissue mills in Finland, Mänttä and in Sweden, Mariestad and Småland, from fresh fibres coming from Northern forests.

Lambi’s choices, producing locally, and manufacturing the products from Northern fresh fibres, reflect Metsä Group’s commitments to contributing positively to the surrounding society and to actively investing in reducing the environmental impacts created in the value chain.

Lambi’s 60th anniversary is highlighted in selected products in Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark. The festive packages bring the Lambi-celebration to stores and homes, featuring naturally the beloved and iconic lamb that has made Lambi the household name for six decades

This anniversary is more than a celebration; it’s a reaffirmation of Lambi’s promise of quality and softness along with its contribution to providing consumers with better choices. Lambi is made close to you from fresh wood fibres grown in the Nordics, and the production by local professionals in our mills is an important part of the local economy”, says Katariina Kukkonen, Marketing Director, Nordics, Metsä Tissue.

As a gesture of gratitude, Lambi is now launching a year-long raffle. Each month during 2025 one lucky winner will receive a year’s supply of Lambi tissue paper products. Consumers can participate to the raffle through our packaging and website.

“We want to thank our customers for making the softest choice for already 60 years and invite all to celebrate the quality, locality and our beloved lamb with us.” concludes Kukkonen.
