Lauri Junnila appointed Senior Vice President for Botnia's Business Steering

Lauri Junnila, M.Sc. (Eng.) has been appointed Senior Vice President for the
Business Steering competence centre and a member of the company's Management
Group. He will be responsible for the company's strategic investments in Russia
and Europe. Lauri Junnila will also be in charge of Botnia's Strategic
Development process. 

Lauri Junnila will take up his new post with Botnia on 1 May 2004. He will
report to Erkki Varis, the company's President and CEO. 

Lauri Junnila worked for Botnia between 1991 and 1999, the last two years of
this period as Vice President, Mill Manager for Kemi pulp mill. He then joined
M-real, where he held several posts, including that of head of the Board
Division and, most recently, Technology Director for the company's Office
