Metsä-Botnia and Botnia Pulps introduce the marketing name “Botnia”

The primary aim in the implementation of Metsä-Botnia's strategy is to
establish greater customer focus throughout the company's organization. This
means that we are aiming to achieve in-depth fibre expertise and at the same a
leading position as supplier of fibre and fibre characteristics and supporting
services to customers producing high-quality printing and writing papers,
packaging boards and tissue products. 

In support of this aim, and to unify nomenclature practice, Metsä-Botnia is
introducing the marketing name and joint logo 
 
The logo/marketing name will be in use from 1 March 2002. The company's
official name remains Oy Metsä-Botnia Ab and the names of its sales offices are
Botnia Pulps Ltd, Botnia Pulps GmbH and Botnia Pulps S.A. These are used in
official contexts, such as when signing for the company. 

The Botnia logo symbolizes our new customer-oriented approach and will promote
the implementation of our strategy. In both design and colour, it speaks of a
strong, modern company that is not afraid to use new, proven technology in its
production processes. The rounded form of the logo has a warm, human touch and
signifies customer focus. 

All Botnia's product names will be unified under the name Botnia. These product
names will be introduced according to the same schedule as the new business
control system, which means 1 March at the Joutseno mill, 1 May at the Kaskinen
and Äänekoski mills, and 1 September at the Kemi and Rauma mills. More
information on practical measures later.
