Metsä Group hires about 1,000 summer employees for summer 2013
Metsä Group Press Release 28 January 2013
In the summer 2013, Metsä Group will provide about 1,000 summer jobs in its operating countries for students from different fields. There is a wide range of summer jobs available in a variety of positions at the mills and in different kinds of expert positions within the Group. About 700 of the summer jobs are based in Finland. In addition, Metsä Group will employ almost 200 short-term trainees.
”Metsä Group represents the renewing Finnish forest industry know-how at its best. Our operations cover the entire value chain of wood – from the forest to premium end products," says Anneli Karhula, senior vice president, HR, Metsä Group.
”Our summer workers will work as substitutes for permanent employees during their holidays. Summer jobs are a way of getting to know the work tasks of one's field of study in practice and to experience what kind of tasks one could have in the future. Summer period is also a chance for the summer employees to show us what they can do," describes Reetta Lyytikäinen-Isonen, vice president, Metsä Group HR and HRD Services.
"We provide summer workers – as well as our permanent employees – opportunities for learning on the job and for competence development. In return, we expect that they are committed to shared values, goals and procedures,” Lyytikäinen-Isonen states.
