Metsä Group uses its call option on Metsä Fibre shares

Metsä Group’s parent company Metsäliitto Cooperative has now decided to use its earlier announced call option regarding UPM-Kymmene Corporation’s (UPM) 11 per cent ownership in Metsä Fibre. The call option price is EUR 150 million as was announced by Metsä Group and UPM on 30 June 2011. The transaction based on the call option will be completed by 27 April 2012.
After this transaction, Metsäliitto Cooperative’s ownership in Metsä Fibre will temporarily increase to 68 per cent, but it will later decrease to 50.2 per cent after the transaction with Itochu Corporation that was announced on 11 April has been completed.
