Metsä Group will pay all its owner-members a bonus for wood sales during the winter
Metsä Group will pay a bonus of at least one euro per cubic metre for all wood trade carried out with its current and new owner-members between 1 November 2024 and 28 February 2025.
The bonus is available to both Metsä Group’s current owner-members and forest owners who become Metsä Group’s owner-members and engage in wood trade with the company between 1 November 2024 and 28 February 2025. Bonus is also accrued for forest management orders.
The bonus offered to all owner-members during the campaign is a benefit that usually requires previous wood trade with Metsä Group. New members can now enjoy the benefit right from their first wood trade if they become members and sell wood between 1 November 2024 and 28 February 2025.
“We want to encourage forest owners to become owner-members of Metsä Group and boost good forest management and wood trade during the winter through the campaign. We offer owner-members all wood trade and forest management services, as well as excellent member benefits, in an individual manner. This is a good time to become an owner-member of Metsä Group, engage in wood trade and participate in creating future growth in Finland,” says Jani Riissanen, SVP, Wood Trade and Forest Services, Metsä Group.
When engaging in wood trade with Metsä Group, the owner-member can choose the Metsä Group Plus management model, in which forest biodiversity and forest nature are taken into account in even greater detail when carrying out forestry work.
The forest owner is rewarded with an additional bonus per hectare in the Metsä Group Plus wood trade. So it is possible to take advantage of both the additional bonus of the Metsä Group Plus management model and the campaign bonus in wood trade during the coming winter.
“The Metsä Group Plus management model implements the principles of regenerative forestry, to which we are committed. Our goal is to verifiably strengthen the state of forest nature by 2030 and ensure that Finnish forest assets are transferred to the next generation in a more vibrant, diverse and climate-resilient condition,” says Riissanen.
