Metsä Tissue brands now stronger than ever - brilliant start-up for rebuilt PM 10 at Mänttä mill

The rebuild of PM10 at Metsä Tissue's Mänttä Mill was brought to conclusion ahead of schedule, with the first reels produced on 22 April. The revamped machine produces toilet paper and hand towel base paper for products marketed under the Lambi, Serla and Katrin brands. The goal of the six million euro rebuild was to improve product quality over and above brand promises and customer expectations. Another key motivation was to improve energy efficiency, which is one of the company's strong focus areas. The rebuild will reduce water consumption and contribute to energy savings in line with Metsä Tissue's commitment to cut energy consumption by 20 percent within three years. “The enhanced product quality will further strengthen our brand position. The runnability and speed of the paper machine and converting lines improved clearly, resulting in increased efficiency.
