Metsä Tissue's Tento acquisition approved by competition authorities

METSÄ TISSUE'S TENTO ACQUISITION APPROVED BY COMPETITION AUTHORITIES

Tissue paper company Metsä Tissue, part of the Metsäliitto Group, has acquired
the full ownership of Tento a.s., a leading tissue paper company in Slovakia. The
competition authorities have approved the acquisition.

"I am very pleased that we have now finalised the Tento deal. This is an
important step for Metsä Tissue in improving the service to our European wide
customers. We continue to develop Tento as a key unit in the CEE region, which is
a strategic growth area for the whole company", says Mikko Helander, President
and CEO of Metsä Tissue.

Olli-Matti Tahvanainen has been appointed as Managing Director of Tento a.s. He
will also be Regional Manager for Central Eastern Europe. Mr Tahvanainen is
currently responsible for Metsä Tissue's Table Top business area and has
previously been responsible for the integration process of Metsä Tissue's Polish
operations.

"Tento has improved performance remarkably over the past few years and we want to
continue this progress. Tento will be developed along the same lines as we
develop the operations at all our units, focusing on safety, quality and
efficiency. I am pleased to join the Tento team", says Tahvanainen, the new
Managing Director of Tento.

Jozef Anto?ík, the former President and CEO of Tento a.s. continues to support
the Metsä Tissue management as a member of the Metsä Tissue Board of Directors.
