Metsä Wood and Quant agree on a maintenance partnership

Metsä Wood and Quant have agreed on a maintenance partnership pursuant to the letter of intent signed on 3 February. The agreement signed covers the Punkaharju plywood and Kerto LVL mills. The maintenance of Punkaharju will be transferred to Quant as of 1 April. The agreements concerning the Suolahti plywood mills and the planned veneer mill at Äänekoski and plywood mill in Estonia will be made later.

In accordance with the letter of intent, the maintenance business will be transferred to Quant in stages. According to the schedule, the transfer will take place in the autumn of 2017 in terms of the Suolahti plywood mills and, regarding Estonia and Äänekoski, in connection to the production start-up. According to the letter of intent, Metsä Wood's entire maintenance staff, about 70 people, will continue at Quant as existing employees. Of the entire staff, 38 will transfer into Quant's employment on 1 April 2017.
