METSÄLIITTO COOPERATIVE'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS' PROPOSAL FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF
DIVIDENDS

Metsäliitto Cooperative's Board of Directors has decided to propose to the
Supervisory Board that for 2005 an interest of 6.5% shall be paid for the
statutory capital invested by its members. For additional members' capital A the
Board proposes an interest of 5.5%, and for additional members' capital B an
interest of 4.0%. The interest rates are the same as in the previous year.

Each member's share capital is determined by the area of the forest land owned by
the member and the municipality where it is located. Additional members' capital
A mainly consists of timber sale proceeds invested by the members. Members can
invest the proceeds from timber sales to Metsäliitto either in whole or in part
in additional members' capital A. Additional members' capital B was introduced at
the beginning of 2004, and it offers a vehicle by which members can invest funds
other than those derived from timber sales.

The proposal of the Board of Directors will be submitted to the Supervisory Board
of Metsäliitto Cooperative in March. The Supervisory Board will in turn submit a
proposal for the distribution of dividends for the approval of the Representative
Council, which meets in April.
