METSÄLIITTO WILL GET ACQUAINTED WITH THE FINNISH COMPETITION AUTHORITY'S
STATEMENT OF OBJECTIONS

Metsäliitto has received a statement of objections concerning the competition
restrictions of the raw timber buying market in 1997-2004 from the Finnish
Competition Authority on Wednesday 5 April 2006. Metsäliitto's specialists will
get acquainted with the results of the Finnish Competition Authority's
studies, and will present their own view of the course of events to the Finnish
Competition Authority during the spring.
