Mikko Mäkimattila to join Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors

At a meeting held on 31 October 2019, the Supervisory Board of Metsä Group’s parent company, Metsäliitto Cooperative, elected Mikko Mäkimattila, Master of Science (Agriculture and Forestry), to be a new member of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board of Directors during the three year period of 20202022. Mäkimattila is a partner and CEO in Dometal Oy, which manufactures and sells farming equipment and he is a farmer active both in agriculture and forestry.

Jussi Linnaranta, Master of Science (Agriculture and Forestry), was elected to continue as a member of the Board of Directors during the three year period of 20202022. Linnaranta has been a member of the Board since 2017.

Martti Asunta, metsäneuvos (Finnish honorary title), was not anymore available for election to Board of Directors. Asunta has been a member of the Board since 2005.

The meeting also decided to pay the following fees to the Chairman, Vice Chairman and members of the Board of Directors in 2019: the fee paid to the Chairman of Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Board will be EUR 7,500 per month, monthly fee for the Vice Chairman EUR 5,200 and the monthly fee for Board members will be EUR 4,200. The monthly fee paid to the chair of the Audit Committee will be EUR 1,200 and to the chair of Compensation Committee EUR 1,000. These fees remained unchanged. The only change was made in Board members’ meeting fee which was raised from 700 euros to 800 euros.
