Metsä Group Stock Exchange Release 12 December 2016 at 9.00 EET

Metsä Group’s Finnish sawmills became part of the Group’s Pulp Industry Metsä Fibre in a group internal transaction on 1 November 2016. Until then, the sawmills had been part of the Group’s Wood Products Industry Metsä Wood. Sawmills included in the transaction were Vilppula, Lappeenranta, Renko, Merikarvia, Kyrö and Eskola. Their combined annual sawn timber production is approximately 1,6 million cubic meters.

The transaction does not impact Metsä Group’s annual sales, comparable operating result or balance sheet ratios. Neither has the transfer any impact on the amount of employees.

Following the transaction the new name for Metsä Group’s Pulp Industry is Pulp and Sawn Timber Industry. Wood Products Industry’s name has not been changed. The new historical figures for 2015 and 2016 for both segments are presented in the tables below.
