Mäntän Energia, an energy company owned 45 per cent by Metsä Tissue, is
investing EUR 3.1 million in a 50 megawatt reserve boiler this spring. The
boiler will be transferred from M-real's Lielahti mill to replace Mäntän
Energia's idle coal-burning reserve boiler.

This replacement will ensure safe and undisturbed supply of heat and
electricity to Metsä Tissue's Mänttä mill, which consumes approximately 84 per
cent of the heat and 100 per cent of the energy produced annually by Mäntän
Energia.

Work to transfer the boiler from Lielahti to Mänttä will begin in April. The
system should be in place in October
