Pekka Kivelä to focus on public affairs - Lauri Peltola appointed Metsäliitto Group SVP, Group Communications (27 May, 2005)

The Board of Directors of Metsäliitto Cooperative has decided to strengthen the
Metsäliitto Group's communications and public affairs functions. Pekka Kivelä,
57, who has been responsible for both functions since 1995, will in future
focus on managing public affairs. Lauri Peltola CCJ, 42, has been appointed
Metsäliitto's new Senior Vice President, Group Communications with effect from
6 June 2005. Kivelä and Peltola report to Kari Jordan, President and CEO of
Metsäliitto Cooperative. 

Mr Peltola will take up his new position from Nokia Oyj, where he is currently
Global Media Relations Director. Previous to this he was head of communications
with Nordea bank from 1999-2005 and financial journalist for MTV from
