The start-up process at Fray Bentos mill proceeding according to plans

The first chips were fed into the digestor in Fray Bentos Botnia pulp mill on
Saturday morning, 10 November 2007. The start up process is proceeding fluidly,
according to the scheduled plan. 


The start up process started when the recovery boiler was turned on with fuel
oil in order to generate the necessary high pressured steam to produce energy
and warm up the different process areas, in particular the digestor. 

When the digestor reached the necessary temperature, the cooking process began.

A team of more than 200 Uruguayan and Finnish technicians per shift are working
in this process.
