The subscription period of Metsäliitto's domestic bond begins

THE SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD OF METSÄLIITTO'S DOMESTIC BOND BEGINS

Metsäliitto will issue a domestic bond to Finnish investors during the period of
13-14 June 2006. The bond consists of separate issues to Finnish institutional
investors and private individuals. The maximum value of the bond is 200 million
euro. The bond issue is a part of Metsäliitto Cooperative's normal financing of
operations.

The subscription period for the bond to retail investors is 1-9 June 2006. This
bond has a variable interest rate and a maturity of two years. The minimum
subscription amount is 5 000 euro.

The lead managers for the bond issue and the subscription of the bond are OKO
Bank Corporation and Sampo Bank plc. An application to list the bond on the
Helsinki Stock Exchange will be filed.
