ANNOUNCEMENT BY METSÄ TISSUE CORPORATION Metsä-Serla Corporation has today (31 January 2001) announced that the decision issued by the European Commission on 31 January 2001 prevents Metsä-Serla's controlling interest in Metsä Tissue from being sold to SCA. Metsä-Serla owns 65.58% of Metsä Tissue's share capital and SCA owns 19.27%. Metsä Tissue Corp.
