Metsä Tissue Corp. granted exceptional dividend payment date

METSÄ TISSUE CORP. GRANTED EXCEPTIONAL DIVIDEND PAYMENT DATE The Board of Directors of Metsä Tissue Corporation will propose to the company's Annual General Meeting, to be held on 19 March 2002, that a dividend of EUR 0.10 per share be distributed in respect of the financial year that ended on 31 December 2001. The record date for the Annual General Meeting is 8 March 2002. Shareholders wishing to attend the meeting must be registered in the company's list of shareholders by this date at the latest. The record date for payment of dividend is 22 March 2002. Shareholders registered in the company's list of shareholders at this date are entitled to receive dividend for the 2001 financial period. The Finnish Central Securities Depository Ltd has granted Metsä Tissue Corp. the right to deviate from the normal dividend payment date. The dividend payment date will be 5 April 2002.
