Metsä Tissue, part of Metsä Group,  has received the WWF Environmental Paper Award 2016 (Category “Striving for Continual improvement”) for screening the forest, climate and water footprint of selected paper products with WWF´s Check your Paper Method.

“In Metsä Tissue, our objective is to contribute to people’s wellbeing through our products and practices. We strive to minimize the environmental impacts of our operations and products throughout their life cycle, from sourcing of raw materials to production and consumption right through to their disposal. We do this in co-operation with our suppliers, customers, business partners and consumers”, says SVP Christoph Zeiler.

Metsä Group and WWF Finland have worked together since 2011 to preserve biodiversity. Nature management in sunlit habitats and herb-rich forests have been among the topics discussed at common training events as forest management plays a remarkable role in safeguarding the biodiversity values.
