Maximizing our handprint - Outotec's sustainability report 2014 published

Outotec has published its annual sustainability report, which describes the company's approach to sustainability, performance and achievements during 2014 as well as future targets. The theme of this report is 'Maximizing our handprint', illustrating the positive impacts of Outotec's solutions and services on resource efficiency and smaller environmental footprint.

Outotec's sustainability work in 2014 included, for example, establishing a Sustainability Advisory Council for increased stakeholder dialogue, transition to the GRI G4 guidelines in the reporting, updating the materiality assessment and more comprehensive reporting of supplier performance. Key achievements were the larger positive effect (5.9 million tonnes CO2-e emissions avoided) from the use of Outotec's five metals-related technologies and the share of Environmental Goods and Services in order intake, which reached 90% for the first time.

"Our customers face increasing demands regarding environmental performance, health and safety of their employees and the surrounding society. Our focus is on maximizing the positive impact with our customers to improve their resource efficiency, energy and water use and minimize emissions. We also aim to continuously improve our own performance, data quality and reporting. For this reason I am very happy for Outotec being included again in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index and amongst the most sustainable companies on Corporate Knights' Global 100 list. This motivates us to continue our steady work towards becoming even more sustainable", says Outotec CEO Pertti Korhonen.

The report is prepared according to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) G4 guidelines and is third-party assured by Ecobio Ltd. The report is available in English at www.outotec.com/sustainability and it can be ordered as a printed publication from communications@outotec.com.
