Metso Outotec has signed a contract with China International Aluminium Engineering Corporation for the delivery of sustainable technology and equipment for a single settler washer train for PT Inalum’s new 1 million tonne per annum alumina refinery to be built in Mempawah, West Kalimantan in Indonesia. The order value, which is not disclosed, has been booked in Metals’ Q2/2021 orders received.
“We are excited having been chosen as the supplier for the settler washer technology for Inalum’s new plant. The order strengthens our market position in the bauxite and alumina sector by complementing Metso Outotec’s portfolio consisting of bauxite handling, grinding, digestion and evaporation, security filtration, red mud and hydrate filtration, and calcination. The Settler Washer Train technology will enable our customers to recover valuable caustic and meet their red mud disposal and washing targets,” says Dr. Alessio Scarsella, Director, Light Metals at Metso Outotec.
Metso Outotec’s Settler Washer Train and red mud filtering technologies are listed as Planet Positive products.
