Outotec announces planned retirement of Deputy CEO Seppo Rantakari

Outotec's Deputy CEO Mr Seppo Rantakari will retire according to the
earlier agreed plan in the spring 2010. On March 1, 2009 he will
leave his position as Deputy CEO and also resign his position as a
member in the Executive Committee. Seppo Rantakari will continue to
serve the company as Senior Adviser to the CEO in corporate
development issues until his retirement.

Outotec's current Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive
Committee, Mr Vesa-Pekka Takala will assume the position of CEO's
substitute, effective as of March 1, 2009."I thank Seppo for his nearly 40 years long career and great
contribution in the development and growth of Outotec to a
world-leading technology company in the mining and metals industry. I
am particularly grateful for his strong input in our acquisitions and
their integration into the organization over the past ten years as
well as for his significant role in the team that implemented the
successful listing of our company in the Helsinki stock exchange in
