(Stoke-on-Trent – July 03, 2014) – Benfield, the largest independent motor group in the North East, will continue to fit Michelin tyres to all its fully maintained vehicles after its contract hire team found the premium rubber to be more cost-effective.

Maintenance Controller Dave Rowell said that after the first 12 months of a Michelin policy the business had found the tyres to last longer and the team had also been impressed by Michelin’s customer service.

He said: “A lot of our customers are doing high mileage and using their vehicles as workhorses. The bigger fleets are out on the road all day. Michelin tyres are very good quality and last longer, so fitting them is a more cost-effective option than buying budget tyres and needing to replace them regularly.

“We have also appreciated the excellent customer service Michelin has offered. If we have any queries, all we have to do is pick up the phone to Michelin and they sort things out for us straight away.”

Michelin’s Key Account Manager for the North East, Andrew Guile said: “Benfield has a very forward-thinking approach and is continuing to grow and offer new services to its customers, so we are particularly pleased the team has chosen to stay with Michelin as its tyre supplier of choice.”

Benfield has recently undergone a re-organisation that has included creating a new corporate division responsible for all business customers. A client-led approach providing multi-franchise supply from one source within the group is putting the Benfield team firmly on the national fleet provider map.
