Michelin solutions UK management team to lead North European region
20 January 2017
Michelin solutions UK Commercial Director Paul Davey and Sales Manager Richard Dale have expanded their roles to include functional support to Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, in addition to their existing responsibilities within the UK and Ireland.
Davey, who is appointed Michelin solutions Commercial Director North European region, explains: “Michelin solutions has been winning solid business in the Nordic countries by demonstrating the benefits our EFFITIRES™ and EFFITRAILER™ solutions bring to local fleets.
“As we move forward in 2017, our UK and Nordic teams will now be working much more closely together, further strengthening our business. In the UK, we currently manage some of the biggest tyre contracts Michelin solutions has within Europe; when we combine this expertise with our key account managers’ local market knowledge within the Nordics, we see significant growth potential.”
Dale, who is appointed Michelin solutions Sales Manager North European region, adds: “The challenges facing Nordic commercial vehicle fleets can certainly be more extreme at times than in the UK and Ireland. However, regardless of how low the temperature gets in winter, fleet performance still boils back down to safety, efficiency and compliance. And in those areas, we have a winning package to support bus, coach and truck fleets.”
Best-known for its tyre management contracts, Michelin solutions now offers significant expertise in trailer telematics, through its EFFITRAILER™ solution. EFFITRAILER™ tracks each asset’s mileage, location, periods of abnormal downtime or ‘wait-time’, the ‘unhooked’ or ‘towed’ status of the asset, whether the trailer is overloaded, and the current pressure and temperature of every tyre on every axle. It also provides clear asset identification and cold-chain management and features a remote door opening sensor.
