Micro Systemation signs licensing agreement with AboCom Systems Inc. Micro Systemation AB is beginning a collaboration with AboCom Systems, Taiwan's biggest, and one of the world's most important, OEM suppliers of PC card modems. The collaboration means that AboCom will be licensing Micro Systemation's software-based GSM modem SoftGSM. AboCom Systems will be integrating SoftGSM in its multi-functional cards, with several functions in one and the same PC card. AboCom is active nowadays as an OEM supplier in Asia, Europe and America. The company is OEM supplier to the Intel Corporation, Toshiba and D- Link, among others. The agreement is expected in the long run to include the sale of 1,000 licenses per month. That AboCom too has chosen SoftGSM to take care of their GSM communication gives credence to the belief of many that SoftGSM is the leading solution in the market, says Henrik Tjernberg, Managing Director for Micro Systemation AB. Our market penetration continues to increase according to plan and SoftGSM has once again shown that it is the best solution on the market where reliability and performance are concerned. AboCom was founded in 1995 and has focused on solutions in mobile data communications. The company works to high standards that include ISO 9001 certification and environment profiling. In 1998 AboCom had a turnover of around USD 30 million and supplied fully 100,000 PC cards per month, with the goal of doubling the volume before the end of 1999.
