Fremont, Calif., March 31, 2014 - Milestone Technologies, Inc. (MILESTONE) is proud to announce that it is a co-sponsor of the 3rd Annual Sierra Nevada Innovation Challenge 2014.The competition, on April 2, shines a light on companies outside California’s major metropolitan areas that are creating innovative products.

Prem Chand, MILESTONE’s CEO and founder, and Jay Preston, Vice President of Client Operations, are participating in the event and will serve as judges on the web and IT panels. Chand will have the opportunity to introduce Joe Schneider with Facebook, who is one of the speakers.

“Innovation is not a matter of geography – good ideas can be found everywhere and should be encouraged,” said Chand. “I can appreciate the challenges that these entrepreneurs face, having bootstrapped my company, and I want to support them and the community.” Chand founded MILESTONE, a leading provider of solutions to the strategic IT challenges of large global corporations, in 1997. The conference is described by organizers as a “must participate” venue for businesses seeking visibility for their new products or that are raising capital. In addition, it’s an opportunity for entrepreneurs to network with key investment, media, industry, academia, and government representatives all in one day.

Each company will convey in a six-minute presentation to the judges how its product or service solves or will solve a human, environmental or industrial problem. The conference provides a must-see, “first look” opportunity for angel and venture capital investors; customers and strategic partners; broadcast, print and online news media; government agencies; and major corporations outside of the major innovation hotbeds.

The event, hosted by Innovate North State, will take place at California State University-Chico Bell Memorial Union Hall.
