Fingersoft and Konami announce a crossover of the iconic Super Bomberman R 2 and the evergreen mobile game Hill Climb Racing 2 with over 500 million downloads.

Fingersoft, a Finnish mobile game developer, has entered into a partnership with Konami Digital Entertainment, a Japanese gaming powerhouse, to bring Konami’s beloved Bomberman IP into Fingersoft’s Hill Climb Racing 2 mobile game.

For a limited time, starting on September 25, Hill Climb Racing 2 will run an exclusive Bomberman-themed event that enables players to suit up as Bomberman while accessing iconic explosive elements familiar from the Bomberman game.

“Hill Climb Racing is an evergreen mobile game brand, and we have worked hard for years to develop it into a world-class IP”, Jaakko Kylmäoja, Fingersoft’s CEO, explains. “For the first time, we are bringing another IP into Hill Climb Racing 2, and we are proud to do this together with such a prestigious company like Konami. We believe that both fans of Hill Climb Racing, and Bomberman will enjoy what our teams have cooked up”, he continues.

Konami’s spokesperson expresses,

”Hill Climb Racing is a wonderful franchise that has been played by fans over many years. We are honored to be the first collaboration of the series and excited to see how the Super Bomberman R 2 universe will turn out in the racing genre.”

”We think both games have a lot in common such as being loved by global fans for a long time, being a competitive game that players can enjoy lightheartedly, and having unique mechanics that identify each brand. As such, we are excited to see how the two IPs will mix together to bring fresh gameplay for the fans of both IPs.”

”It was a great experience to work with Fingersoft and to see how terrifically they’ve incorporated Super Bomberman R 2 into Hill Climb Racing 2. We hope that all the fans are as excited as much as we are to try out the new collaboration event to come soon.”

The Super Bomberman R 2 event will be live in Hill Climb Racing 2 from September 25 to October 2. Hill Climb Racing 2 is available to download for free on Google Play and Apple App Store.

Since its launch in 2016, Hill Climb Racing 2 has been downloaded over 500 million times across platforms, and it is the all-time top-grossing racing game on Google Play. Combined with its predecessor, Hill Climb Racing, the series has a combined total of over 2 billion downloads. Earlier this year, Fingersoft also released LEGOⓇ Hill Climb Adventures, a cross-brand collaboration of LEGO and Hill Climb Racing.

Fingersoft will attend the Tokyo Game Show in Japan from September 26 to 29. You can find Fingersoft’s team at the general exhibition area, booth 08-C04, or set up a meeting with a spokesperson at the venue via press@fingersoft.com.
