Mind strengthens its investment in wireless Internet technology - establishing a skills centre and recruiting one of the top names from Ericsson The Internet company Mind is establishing a skills centre in Karlstad for wireless Internet technology. The aim is to strengthen Mind's range of portals by using wireless applications. Jan Lindoff, who previously managed some of Ericsson's major development projects in mobile telephony, will be running the centre. The skills centre in Karlstad will work towards the development of a wireless Internet for WAP/GPRS applications and other telecommunications technology. Around ten consultants will be employed at the centre at the beginning, each with solid experience in the development of telecommunications and the Internet. The skills centre forms part of Mind's investment in the mobile Internet. The manager of this centre will be Jan Lindoff who has been recruited from Ericsson, where he managed Ericsson's investment in GPRS. "Setting up this centre in Karlstad means that we can gather our unique skills together in one place, allowing us to develop state-of-the-art wireless Internet technology. We are currently setting up a project to investigate the ways in which wireless Internet technology can strengthen Mind's business concept. The aim of this project is to develop the best skills on the market in this area," says Jan Lindoff. Jan Lindoff previously worked as General Manager for the GPRS Product Group at Ericsson Radio Systems. Lindoff has also been responsible for several of Ericsson's major development projects, particularly in the field of mobile telephony.
