Minesto and its collaboration partner SEV feature in an article by CNBC, one of the world's largest business news networks, reporting on the Faroe Islands transition to 100 percent renewable energy by 2030, and the joint ambition to make tidal energy a significant part of the Faroese electricity mix.

On 12 May Minesto participated in an investor event focusing on new green energy technologies, “Next Generation Renewables”, arranged by Redeye. With respect for the situation with the coronavirus, CEO Dr Martin Edlund participated via video link to present the company's operations and projects.

Preliminary results of studies made as a part of a PhD project on the energy balance and stability of the Faroese electrical system show that tidal stream has the potential to become a significant energy resource to balance other, unpredictable renewable energy sources.
