Use your mobile device to find Missouri sights

Jefferson City, Mo. — The first day of spring; a time for flowers and trees to begin blooming, temperatures to begin climbing, travelers to begin planning trips, and smart-phone users to begin accessing the new mobile version of VisitMO.com.

As spring officially begins today (March 20), the Missouri Division of Tourism announces its latest web-development project; a mobile version of the division’s VisitMO website, is online and ready for use.

The mobile site (
m.VisitMO.com), compatible with iPhones and Android-based phones, allows users to access thousands of attractions, events, restaurants, shops and lodging options in Missouri. All you have to remember is VisitMO.com; the site will automatically render the mobile version for users on a mobile phone. Tablet users will default to the full version, as larger tablet screens are better suited for the full-site experience.

“Cell phones and mobile devices are becoming a dominant way for people to quickly and easily access information while traveling to and within Missouri,” said Katie Steele Danner, director of the Missouri Division of Tourism. “Our efforts to produce this mobile site reflect that trend, and we’re confident people seeking travel information about Missouri will find the mobile VisitMO site a useful tool for planning trips and selecting events and destinations to visit.”

VisitMO.com encourages travelers to explore Missouri by showcasing the exciting and unique attractions that make the state a can’t-miss vacation destination. With the launch of the mobile site, quick and convenient access to VisitMO content is just a tap away.

The mobile version of
VisitMO is a full, stand-alone site; you don’t have to download an app to access its features. VisitMO’s mobile search functions allow you to quickly find attractions, events and places to stay while traveling in the Show-Me State, based on your location or your destination.

The number of people using mobile devices to access
VisitMO has skyrocketed during the last two years, with some of the highest mobile-access rates being recorded during the past seven months. In fact, more people accessed VisitMO via mobile device through the first five months of FY12 than did during all of FY11.
