Marine survey work starts for Greenlink interconnector

The subsea field work for the Greenlink interconnector, one of Europe’s most important infrastructure projects, gets under way today with the launch of the first of MMT’s survey vessels, MV Franklin. The offshore and nearshore surveying along the proposed route of the electricity link between the UK and Ireland is expected to take approximately 40 days, depending on weather conditions. MMT completes geophysical seabed survey for AQUIND Interconnector

MMT has recently completed a geophysical seabed survey and delivered the final report for the proposed AQUIND Interconnector offshore cable route.MMT surveyed a corridor between Portsmouth in the UK and the coastal region of Dieppe in France. MMT utilised two vessels: M/V Franklin for offshore works and M/V Seabeam for nearshore works. Four cables, bundled as two pairs, will be installed along the surveyed route totalling approximately 190km in length. No major obstacles to the cable route were uncovered during the survey. Extended charter contract for M/V Stril Explorer

MMT has extended its contract with Simon Møkster Shipping AS for the DP2 multipurpose support vessel Stril Explorer.MMT has operated Stril Explorer since April 2014, equipped with the latest subsea survey technology and is very suitable for launch and recovery operations with Surveyor Interceptor ROV (SROV), Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV’s), Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV’s) and geotechnical equipment.  Stril Explorer has been part of project for MMTs clients such as Nord Stream Pipelines and Nord Stream 2 and will be operated by MMT during 2018 and 2019.

MMT at Oceanology International

MMT is exhibiting at Oceanology International for the 7th time. The event takes place at ExCel in London on the 13-15th of March 2018 and MMT will demonstrate the new version of the fast going survey ROV Surveyor Interceptor, now upgraded for UXO inspections. MMT launched the first version of the Surveyor ROV in 2014 at Oceanology International. Since then it has been working on some of Europe’s largest pipeline and cable route projects and has been developed in close cooperation with partners and clients. MMT appoints new CEO

Mr Peter Forhaug has been appointed by MMT board as acting CEO from 1 of January 2018 while the recruitment of a new permanent CEO is on-going. Peter has a background in finance and has acted as a senior advisor to the board of MMT and is representing MMT at the board of the SMaRC research project. Frame agreement and contract award with Statoil for survey and light construction work

Statoil has renewed and expanded MMT’s frame agreement. The successful co-operation between Reach Subsea and MMT Sweden has resulted in a new frame agreement covering both survey and light construction for the next three years. The frame agreement is call-off based, which means that Statoil can award contracts for survey and light construction projects in the North Sea on an as needed basis. MMT has commenced an offshore geophysical survey for the AQUIND Interconnector project. The works will involve a geophysical survey of the proposed cable corridor between the landfall areas near Portsmouth in England and near Dieppe in France. Baltic Pipe route survey in the North Sea

MMT has been awarded a contract by the Danish energy transmission system operator Energinet as part of the Baltic Pipe project. The assignment includes a route survey for a new offshore pipeline in the North Sea and in Lillebælt, the inner Danish Seas. On Tuesday 19th September, after more than a month out on the Black Sea, the third year of the Black Sea MAP marine archaeological project ends. The main objective of the project has been to map the submerged submarine landscapes along the Bulgarian coast. Nord Stream Awards Contract for External Inspection of the Pipeline to MMT

Zug, May 18, 2017. MMT Sweden has been awarded a three-year contract by Nord Stream AG to inspect both lines of the Nord Stream Pipeline running through the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany. The external inspection of the pipeline will be executed by the joint venture between MMT Sweden and Reach Subsea.The scope of work, involving approximately 150 days for 2017, includes visual and instrumental inspection of the pipelines with remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) over the entire length of the route. Hydrographic surveys for MCA in the Shetland Islands

MMT has since 2006 been one of the Maritime & Coastguard Agency´s Civil Hydrography Programme survey providers of high resolution multi-beam bathymetry, providing hydrographic data for updating nautical charts for safe navigation and efficient maritime transport. Mediterranean Pipeline Inspection project

MMT has entered into a contract with Medgaz in Spain for inspection of the offshore pipeline between Algeria and Spain.The project will be performed within the Joint Venture agreement between MMT and Reach Subsea utilizing the vessel Edda Fonn.
